Education Business Partnership will be delivering JobFest Swindon on behalf of Swindon Borough Council, at STEAM, on Tuesday 6th March 2018.

  • 1.00pm – 2.30pm Secondary Schools.
  • 2.30pm – 6.00pm General Public – Jobseekers & College Students.
  • Event ends 6.00pm.

JobFest brings together over 50 Swindon employers that are offering apprenticeships and employment opportunities to young people and jobseekers in the area.  JobFest evolves each year and is fast become known an important platform for Swindon Employers to reach out to meet their future workforce.

95% of those students who visited JobFest in 2017 said that they would recommend this event to their friends.

JobFest brings employers and potential employees together for the future success of the Swindon area.  There will be:

  •  Over 400 students from local Swindon Secondary Schools.
  • Students who will be leaving education at the end of this Summer.
  • College students.
  • Unemployed young people looking for apprenticeships and employment in Wiltshire.
  • Adults returning to work.
  • Parents and carers with their children who would like information on employment opportunities in the area.

Over 184 businesses and organisations have exhibited at Jobfest since 2016.  Of those companies that used JobFest to recruit in 2017, 81% said they identified potential candidates and 95% of students would recommend the event to their friends.

JobFest has local employers who are actively looking for young people (16-24 years old) to inspire and employ from the Swindon area.

The spaces allocated to secondary schools (from 1.00 – 2.30pm) are now full, if you would like to go on our waiting list for this time, please click on the Secondary Schools Registration button.

The event is open from 2.30pm to the General Public and College students, please click on the General Public Registration button if you could attend between 2.30pm and 6.00pm.

There may be FREE transport to and from the event for local Swindon Secondary Schools, provided by Swindon Bus Company.

Transport and Directions

Free school transport is available for secondary schools who have registered to attend from Swindon’s Bus Company, during the school day.

STEAM is located in the Rodbourne area of Swindon and is approximately 10-20 minutes’ walk from Swindon Town Centre. They share the historic Churchward site with the McArthurGlen Swindon Designer Outlet, Heelis (National Trust HQ), English Heritage, Historic England and the National Monuments and Records Centre.

 

Travelling by Rail
Swindon is easily reached via the London Paddington to Bristol line. STEAM is 10-20 minutes’ walk from Swindon Railway Station.

Turn right outside the Station, stay on the right-hand side pedestrian path and keep going until you come to a pedestrian sign that directs you through the GWR tunnel that connects to the Churchward site. Your route will pass English Heritage and Thomas Homes apartments, leading to STEAM Museum.

 

By Bus from Swindon Town Centre
Regular bus services run from Swindon Town Centre. Take number 1, 1a or number 8. Ask for the Designer Outlet
